how it works
The recipe
- Step 01 Light hits your camera in photons. Quantum mechanics decides how many arrive each frame, and it does not take requests.
- Step 02 We XOR each frame against the previous one, so everything that stays still cancels out. Only the flicker survives.
- Step 03 We keep one bit per sample and run von Neumann debiasing: look at bit pairs, keep 01 as 0 and 10 as 1, throw the rest away. Bias gone.
- Step 04 Clean bits drip into the pool. Coins, dice, and the universe splitter drink from it.
- Honesty Some of the flicker is boring classical sensor noise too. Real labs measure the ratio. We are a personal website, so we wave at them respectfully.
